We are searching for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to work within our Customer Success team. Remote candidates within the United States are encouraged to apply.

Our SDET’s are responsible for the overall quality of the software produced within the team. This will be accomplished by being immersed within the development team and process. The role includes, but is not limited to, the development of automated tests, bug remediation and backports, executing quality tests as Itential software engineers complete project items, management of the merge process within GitLab, as well as playing a key role in the overall software testing process.

Most importantly, this is not a QA engineer role. You're a software engineer who's passionate about development, designing and testing tools, frameworks and automated tests. You are expected to be a highly skilled developer that will not only assist in finding bugs, but designing and implemented the fix. Further, your role as a test developer is to actually write tests (code, not a test plancase).

Technologies We Use:

Functional JavaScript (es6), Python, Java, Node.js, git, Docker, Kubernetes, bash, AWS (EC2, Cloud Watch, ECS, IAM, Route 53), Linux, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, mocha, Cypress, Ansible, and front-end frameworks such as React.

Requirements
  • Automated test of improvements and bug fixes.
  • Bug remediation and backports to all supported releases.
  • Ensure that Customer Success team standards and procedures are followed.
  • Participate in stand-ups with both the Customer Success and Development teams.
  • Software testing dedicated to testability, robustness, reliability, and performance.
  • Work with customer support teams to provide consistent testing and quality processes to all development teams.
  • Testing of new features as well as bugs that may occur and developing automated test to protect against regressions.
  • Assist development teams in bug remediation that include developing the solution along with the automated test.
  • Contribute to planning, design and implementation of automated test.

Qualifications and Skills (Minimum):

  • 3+ years of experience in a software engineer role
  • Experience creating designs for production software
  • Knowledge of consuming and creating APIs
  • Node.js and JavaScript are a must
  • Understanding Agile development methodologies
  • Familiar with technologies listed above
  • Skilled in software development
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent time management skills

What We Look For:

  • Experience with the entire life cycle of software development – conception, building, testing, supporting, backporting)
  • Node.js testing – mocha, jasmine, jest
  • Python testing – unittest, pytest, nose
  • React experience.
  • Functional testing with Cypress, puppeteer, or similar frameworks
  • Pair programming experience
  • Experience with CI systems such as Gitlab CI, Github Actions, Jenkins, Travis, etc.

Location: Headquarters are in Atlanta. Remote applicants within the U.S. will be considered.
