Description

We are seeking a hungry product manager wanting to be accountable for results and open to learning and growing by close collaboration with our engineering team. Reporting to our Head of Product, you will be working on core features in the BackBox platform. This includes capabilities like event driven orchestration, dynamic device analysis, and more.
We are a distributed, result oriented culture and we embrace open and continuous communication. You are expected to work closely with our account executives, technical sales, and professional services teams. You will be called upon as the SME (subject matter expert) guiding our product marketing team in your areas of product ownership. You will leverage our current product and engineering release leadership in planning how and when the problems you address will meet users.
In this role you will:

  • Share responsibility for product roadmap, prioritization, requirements management, and feature delivery with the rest of the product team
  • Get hands on with our products to refine features, validate new releases, and engage directly with customer issues and requirements
  • Work closely with stakeholders at all levels and in all functional areas of the business to identify product, packaging, and pricing needs and opportunities
  • Engage with customers, prospective customers, and members of our community to understand use cases, functional requirements, and opportunities
  • Represent the company and our product team in pre-sales and post-sales customer conversations
  • Operate in a high trust, high performance environment where you can expect others to meet commitments, and in which you will be expected to meet yours as well

You will work closely with:

  • Head of Engineering and Platform team who manages all the engineering aspects of our R&D organization
  • Director of Product Management, who is responsible for the operational aspects of turning our roadmap and product strategy into a release schedule and delivery plan
  • The professional services and customer success team to understand customer and community problems and deliver compelling solutions and a stellar user experience
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management roles within B2B enterprise software or SaaS businesses
  • Sufficient technical experience to work in a hands-on way with our products to test features and drive product iteration
  • Experience working in remote and distributed teams. You should be comfortable with shipping product features from start to finish working within a fully remote team.
  • Experience with enterprise IT environments, technologies, and teams
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams to balance technical product development and go to market iteration
  • 3+ years of experience in fast-paced, high growth startup environments
  • Strong technical writing skills and comfort translating technical concepts into written blog articles, product documentation, and other product collateral
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders to generate forward progress on complex projects
  • Experience engaging directly with customers and prospective customers to represent the product and to gather product feedback

In addition, strengths in the following areas are valuable and welcome:

  • Direct or indirect work experience to networking and infrastructure ISVs such as NetBrains, SolarWinds, Gluware, etc.
  • Product management experience with orchestration/middleware IT software products such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Zapier, etc.
  • Experience partnering with or working closely with one or more of the market leading network device platforms, such as a Palo, Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, etc.
